A couple of weeks ago my nephew’s X-Box Elite shows one red light and an error code. I check the Internets and come to find out that this error code can only be fixed by sending the console in to be fixed. Needless to say I was pretty pissed off. This system is less than a year old! It is now the 3rd out of 4 360s to fail on us. The first 2 times I had the extended warranty with GameStop and just swapped out the system. They have since discontinued that sweet deal and I was forced to send it in for repair.
Now Microsoft used to have a 3 month warranty, but with all the failures they increased it to a year and 3 years if you get the complete “red ring of death”. Instead of waiting for them to send me a box which they would have done free of charge, I packed it myself and printed off a UPS label with shipping paid for by Microsoft. So far so good. It doesn’t look like it will cost me a penny. I could also watch the progress via xbox.com and could see every step of the way. It took them 2 weeks and we got it back the day before X-mas with a free month of X-box Live. I was VERY impressed with the entire experience. I expected a nightmare and it was not so bad at all. Now I am not so worried when/IF my 360 is the next to fail. Will it be 4 for 4? I have about 6 months left on my year… so we will see.
BTW – You only qualify for your warrenty if you registered your console serial number online. If you didn’t do it yet…. DO IT NOW.

I decided to review a website that a friend of mine suggested I check out. This is the first of a couple of reviews coming down the pike. (or is it pipe?) Whatever.
‘This is the Nuts‘ is a rakeback site. For those unfamiliar with rakeback, I’ll explain… Rake is how poker rooms make money. When you buy into a tournament you pay the entry and a small fee. For example, a $5 + $.50 tournament will see the $5 go towards the overall prize pool and the 50 cents goes to the room. A cash game however is a little different and the actual rake varies from room to room. But in general after each hand a small portion of the pot is collected (as rake) by the house. So for those that play a lot of cash game poker, the rake can be the difference between a winner and a loser. Most of the winning (smart) players join a rakeback site. This way they can get back some of the money that is being scooped by the house. From what I know about rakeback the average site gets you somewhere between 20 & 40 percent return and there really is no wiggle from room to room. At TiTN you have a wide range of rooms to choose from and I have found a nice average of 30 percent.
“Rakeback is essential when you are first starting out as a poker player. It will allow you to grow your bankroll much faster and can act as a cushion for the months where you aren’t winning. Even if you are a winning player, if you are putting in a high volume each month you can easily earn hundreds of extra dollars for no extra effort. Sign up for any of the sites on ThisIsTheNuts and start earning rakeback today!”
TiTN is a great place to start because it’s not just a rakeback site. Think of it more as a ‘how to’ rakeback complete with it’s own support forum where there doesn’t appear to be a shortage of people willing to help. With tools like the rakeback calculator and member exclusive freerolls, it really is one of the better poker related sites out there. (in 7 languages too!) I really like how the site is put together and it makes for easy navigation. There is an offer for just about every poker room out there. And even if you know even less about rake when you first started reading this, you will have no problem learning everything you need to know the first few minutes you are there.
They boast some of the highest rakeback percentages out there and give back MORE of your money than the competition. A very member friendly site with everything from giveaways to member exclusives. Members gain access to StoxPoker too! Not only do they help you keep more of your money, they give you the tools to WIN more of it. You really can’t go wrong. So go check it out.
Join and tell em “Lifesabluff” referred ya!
On a scale of 1-10, I am going to give this site an 8.
